The Road to Eagle
September 30, 2026
From Cub Scout to Eagle Scout
The Scouting trail begins with simple Adventures and grows right alongside our Scouts.
In Cub Scouts, youth learn by doing—trying new things, exploring the outdoors, helping others, working as a team, and gradually taking on more responsibility. When they cross over into Scouts BSA, those same foundations continue, but Scouts begin taking much greater ownership of their experience and leadership.
The trail progresses through the Scouts BSA ranks of Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and ultimately Eagle Scout.
Not every Scout will travel the entire trail, but the skills developed along the way—confidence, character, leadership, and service—are what make the journey worthwhile.
What Is an Eagle Scout Project?
The Eagle Scout service project is one of the final steps on the road to Eagle and is completed after a Scout has earned the Life rank.
The Scout must plan, develop, and lead a service project benefiting a religious institution, school, or community organization. The Scout identifies a need, works with the organization to develop a solution, and prepares a formal project proposal. Before work begins, the proposal must be approved by the beneficiary and Scouting leadership.
Once approved, the Scout develops the detailed plan, organizes the people and resources needed, and leads volunteers in carrying out the project. Afterward, the Scout completes a project report documenting the results and their leadership.
There is no minimum number of hours required—the emphasis is on planning, leadership, and service, not simply the amount of work completed.
Help Carter Support Infant Crisis Services
For his Eagle Scout service project, Troop 94 Scout Carter Johnson is asking Pack 94 families to join him in supporting Infant Crisis Services, an Oklahoma organization that provides essential items to babies and toddlers in need.
Carter is leading a diaper drive, collecting diapers and baby wipes. Diaper sizes 4, 5, and 6 are especially needed. Your family can help by bringing any number of supplies, even a single pack of wipes, to our normal Den Meeting time this Monday.
When: Monday, October 5 — during our regular Den Meetings
Where: Santa Fe Presbyterian Church lobby
We'd love to see Pack 94 rally behind a fellow Scout. This is a chance for our Cubs to do more than learn about an Eagle project—they can be part of one, helping local families while seeing an older Scout put leadership and service into action.
Let's help Carter make an impact!
